มีค่าลำดับขั้นสะสมเฉลี่ยตลอดหลักสูตรตั้งแต่ 3.50 ขึ้นไป Applicants must have the minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.50

สำเร็จการศึกษาหลักสูตรในระดับปริญญาตรี สาขาวิชาสถาปัตยกรรม ภูมิสถาปัตยกรรม สถาปัตยกรรมภายใน มัณฑณศิลป์ การออกแบบและวางผังชุมชนและสิ่งแวดล้อม ผังเมือง การบริหารโครงการและการก่อสร้าง วิศวกรรมหรือสาขาวิชาที่เกี่ยวข้องในกลุ่มวิทยาศาสตร์เทคโนโลยี มนุษยศาสตร์และสังคมศาสตร์ Applicants must complete the bachelor's degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Architecture, Decorative Arts, Urban and Environmental Design and Planning, Urban Planning, Project and Construction Management, Engineering, or other related fields in Science and Technology, Humanities, and Social Science.

มีผลสอบภาษาอังกฤษ โดยเป็นไปตามประกาศของบัณฑิตวิทยาลัย มหาวิทยาลัยเชียงใหม่ ที่กำหนดไว้ โดย เงื่อนไขภาษาต่างประเทศสำหรับหลักสูตรปริญญาเอก มีดังนี้ CMU-eTEGS 65 หรือ LELTS 5.5 หรือ TOEFL PBT: 523 หรือ ITP: 523 หรือ CBT: 193 IBT: 69 หรือ CU-TEP 65% หรือ TU-GET 65% หรือ KU-PET 65% ทั้งนี้ ผู้สมัครเข้าศึกษาในระดับปริญญาเอกทุกแบบ ต้องมีคะแนนภาษาต่างประเทศตามเกณฑ์ที่กำหนด มิฉะนั้น บัณฑิตวิทยาลัยอาจรับเขาเป็นนักศึกษาทดลองเรียนไปก่อน Applicants must have the English ability score that follows the announcement of the Graduate School, Chiang Mai University. For the Doctoral Degree Program, the English ability score requirements are as follows: CMU-eTEGS 65 or LELTS 5.5 or TOEFL PBT: 523 or ITP: 523 or CBT: 193 or IBT: 69 or CU-TEP 65% or TU-GET 65% or KU-PET 65%. Applicants of every Doctoral Degree Program must have the English ability score that reach the requirement, or else the Graduate School may accept the applicant as provisional student at first.
